Daily Sketch 04.23.2012

A quick, dirty montage sketch of one of my favorite comic mini-series (now in Blu-ray and DVD). Kept it simple with the two central characters.

Looks awesome! Never read Year one though, its on my list.
You ever read Black Mirror? the newer book by Scott Snyder and Jock/francesco fancavilla? Its amazing and ive seen people say its a worthy successor to this as far as jim gordon stories go.

I now want to strangle you. I was 16. :-D

Which begs the question, what would you call it? If it predates you, what era is it?

Comics beyond the 2000s generally feel really retro to me, but keep in mind im only 21 and didnt have access to American comics till I started going to college in dublin september 2010!

I'd consider the few older books ive read (Sandman, Crisis on infinite earths, Hellblazer etc) to be quite retro. I guess anything made before you were born will feel that way though.

I forget (or seldom want to forget) how old I am. I remember vividly when I first bought The Dark Knight Returns, Crisis on Infinite Earths and Secret Wars. I remember when guys like Jim Lee and Todd McFarlane were consider the upstarts of the industry. I am fascinated by the perspective of youth towards the things of my youth. I have children now and our differences are quite sobering!

I feel age is just a number as long as your young at heart and still enjoying life and learning.
Thankfully I havent really had much experience of things i loved being enjoyed by new generations, most of the stuff i grew up with is still going (Pokemon) or hasnt been rebooted or anything.
